YAMBA

Australians and overseas visitors are waking up to the potential of Yamba as one of the best, yet virtually undiscovered, locations on the east coast of Australia. Once a sleepy little fishing village, Yamba is now stirring and the sea changers and clever investors are starting to catch on.

Mother nature has certainly been kind to Yamba. Surrounded by water on all sides, there are five beaches within a kilometre of town, there’s world class surfing at Angourie and Yamba, there’s the mighty Clarence River, magnificent national parks, great fishing . . . Oh, and one of the most perfect climates on the planet.

But now this once little-known village has topped the list of towns in Australia and has become a must-see tourist destination for Aussies and international travellers alike. Yamba was named Australia’s Top Town for 2009 in a survey of travel and tourism experts conducted by Australian Traveller magazine, well-known for their annual lists of the best and worst towns in Australia.

The fact that Yamba is surrounded by water is no doubt a large part of the reason why real estate here is performing so well and will continue to do so. Not only does it make the area naturally beautiful, it also keeps one thing in limited supply - land. Yamba is fast running out of land, and scarcity is a great driver of real estate prices. Make sure you don’t miss out on your piece of paradise.
